Fees & Additional Information

The facility is registered with NAMAF (Namibian Association of Medical Aid Funds) as a private mental health facility. NAMAF-approved tariffs are applicable for admission and therapy.

Private Patients [Patients with no medical aid]

Normal daily tariffs are N$1,168.70 per day.*

The fee includes full board and lodging, group psychotherapy, nursing care and environmental educational sessions.

For chronic patients**, a tariff of N$22,000.00 per month, is charged.*

You will charged for all additional medication dispensed to you during your stay.

*Rates valid until 31 December 2012. Rates can be amended without prior notice.
**Patients whose duration of stay lasts for a minimum of one month.

PSEMAS / Government Patients

All PSEMAS patients must be referred by a psychiatrist, who will assist with obtaining pre-authorization from PSEMAS. In order to confirm admission, please ensure that the confirmation from the medical aid is faxed to Okonguarri. In the event that the medical aid fails to settle the account in full, the patient will be held responsible for all outstanding fees.

A medication levy of N$50.00 is payable by all patients.

All appointments must be confirmed at least one week in advance.

NHP, NMC, Prosperity & other Medical Aid Patients

The patient's referral letter, obtained from a clinical psychologist, is to be faxed to Okonguarri. Okonguarri will arrange pre-authorization with your medical aid.

In order to ensure that all arrangements with your medical aid has been finalised, please contact Okonguarri prior to admission. In the event that the medical aid fails to settle the account in full, the patient will be held responsible for all outstanding fees.

A medication levy of approximately N$250.00 is payable by all patients.

All appointments must be confirmed at least one week in advance.

Transport to Okonguarri

Transport to the centre is available from Otjiwarongo. The service is offered to patients by Okonguarri at no additional charge. Patients making use of the service do so at their own risk. No public transport is available to the centre.

Availability: Fridays only. 14h30 for 15h00. Departure strictly at 15h00.

Pickup/Drop-Off Point: In front of Otjiwarongo Medical Practice consultation rooms (Dr. Pretorius & Partners) - No. 1, Sonweg, Otjiwarongo.

For patients making use of personal transport, please contact us for directions.

Arrival time no later that 17h00 on the day of your booking.

What to Bring

Be sure to bring the following:

  • ID or Birth Certificate
  • Medical Aid Card
  • All medication you are currently on.
  • Pocket Money (see shop details below)
  • Alarm clock & camera. No cell phones (see below).
  • Comfortable shoes for walking/hiking.
  • Appropriate sneakers/takkies for playing tennis.
  • During summer: appropriate swimming attire, hat & sunscreen.
  • Sundries: Toiletries, torch, towel, pen, writing pad, etc.

The dress code at the centre is casual.

Okonguarri operates a small shop offering sweets, cold drinks, cigarrettes, flexi call cards, etc.
Note: Shop Operates On Strictly Cash Only Basis

IMPORTANT
NO CELL PHONES, ALCOHOL, DRUGS, FIREARMS/WEAPONS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES
Personal belongings and person will be searched on admission and departure.

Recreational Equipment Rental

Okonguarri offers a range of recreational facilities. For activities that require special equipment (e.g. pool cues, tennis rackets, etc.), it can be obtained from the centre. Note: A deposit & nominal fee will be charged for usage of the equipment.
